President and Founder

Lou Desiderio is the president and founder of Synergy Communications, Inc., a boutique-style public relations and marketing communications agency specializing in photography and consumer electronics. He is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology where he majored in photojournalism. During the last 28 years, Lou held a number of positions in the photo, technology, and consumer electronics industries including Editor of Studio Photography magazine, Public Relations Director at Polaroid Corporation and Olympus America, and Senior Vice President at Saatchi & Saatchi Rowland where he helped to create Canon’s respected Explorer’s of Light program. He also spent two years as the Communications Director for Richard Petty Enterprises and the Richard Petty Racing Team.

Lou is on the New Business Development board of the Boomer Esiason Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis, Board of Directors of the Long Island Breast Cancer Coalition and Board of Advisors at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He was named Man of the Year by the New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in 2007 and was recognized by the New York Jets as their “Community Quarterback of the Year” for his community service. He established the Desiderio Family Charities to help feed and house the homeless on Long Island.

Scott knows how to make public relations work hard for your business. With more than 20 years of public relations experience, Scott creates and implements programs that drive awareness, sales and brand image for our clients. With vast consumer and corporate experience, Scott brings an understanding of how to achieve client priorities and strategies with an effective communications effort. Scott runs Synergy’s Southern California office and his background includes major consumer brands including Toshiba, Nintendo, Yamaha Motors and Mitsubishi Motors.

Specialties for Scott include creative and strategic planning for events, media tours, new product introductions and product review programs. He is also an expert in media training for executives and corporate as well as product spokespeople. Additional capabilities include media research and focus groups, analyst relations, special events and trade show and convention support.

Scott is raising a young family and is continually learning the meaning of juggling priorities and multi-tasking. Between work, baseball, photography, Cub Scouts, and community activities, Scott brings a family attitude to our clients and the media we call friends and colleagues.

Lisa has served as communications counselor to both small and large corporations, including Barnes & Noble College Booksellers, Canon USA, Hooked on Phonics, IBM, Kraft, Kodak, Michael C. Fina and UBS. She works with non-profits, such as Keep Putnam Beautiful, and has coordinated fundraisers for groups, such as the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center. For 20 years, Lisa has held positions across the communications spectrum, including public relations, media relations, employee and executive communications.

At Synergy, Lisa coordinates all social media plans, programs and activities on behalf of our clients, and leverages her news instincts, creative writing and search engine optimization (SEO) skills to help business leaders, entrepreneurs and development officers tell their story, increase their exposure and improve their Google ranking. Her big picture mindset and understanding of digital marketing communications helps clients integrate traditional PR approaches with new inbound marketing communications strategies, including SEO, social media and blogging.

Jay is affectionately known by almost everyone as “The Web Dude”. He has been in the web design and development industry since 2006 and has worked for clients large and small including Jockey, 4theCure, Shane’s Rib Shack, Nielsen, PhotoPlus Expo, LaCorium Health, Flexitol and Natralia.

Jay’s sweet spot is custom design, development and implementation of websites, Facebook Applications and Promotions and other social web properties.

At Synergy, Jay works with clients to help them step up their game as it relates to all things web. His approach is straight-forward and effective in that he helps our clients accomplish the following four things:
